The day can be summarized in three words: breakfast, travel, and supper. Otherwise, it was a quiet day.
The day started with the men preparing breakfast for the
caravan. Seven pounds of bacon, along with
sausage, and several dozen eggs were prepared by the "he-men" of the group. (Special
thanks to several of the wives
who saved the men’s “bacon” by baking
biscuits and preparing the sausage gravy.)
After the delicious breakfast, we waddled back to our motor coaches to
prepare for transferring to Staunton, Virginia.
After recovering from breakfast, we closed up the motor
coaches and drove to the Walnut Hills KOA campground in Staunton,
Virginia. All three waves traveled the
65 miles safely. The rest of the
afternoon was unscheduled to allow time for setting up the coach at the new
site, laundry, and exploring the Staunton area.
The Food Team 2, consisting of Paul & Betsy H., Les
& Wilma Jean A., and John & Rita H. provided a pizza supper for the group. Thank you Team 2, especially the ladies.
