Monacos in Motion is planning a 21-day caravan through the
Shenandoah Valley of West Virginia and Virginia from August 10 through August
30, 2016. The caravan consists of twelve
motor coaches led by Wilt, Barbara, Ed, and Connie. Participants in the caravan come from
Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Kansas, California, Arizona, and Ohio.
An except from the leaders’ handout describes this caravan
as a “… trip through one of the most scenic and historic areas in the
country. You’ll experience beautiful
mountain and river scenery, and take a drive through history, from Colonial
days through the period after the Civil War.
As we travel, we’ll try to offer an overview of the area and a sampling
of its many different types of attractions.”
During this trip we will park our motor coaches for 3 to 5
days at five campgrounds in:
- · Harpers Ferry, WV
- · Luray, VA
- · Staunton, VA
- · Natural Bridge, VA
- · Galax, VA
While at each campground, we will make day trips explore the
local area.
For anyone not familiar with Monacos in Motion, it is an RV
club comprised of motor coaches manufactured by Monaco Coach (a subsidiary of
REV Group, Inc.) [http://www.monacocoach.com].
The club is a chapter of FMCA, (http://www.fmca.com).
