We pulled in the slides on the motor coaches and said
farewell to Harpers Ferry. We drove in
three waves of four coaches to Outlanders River Camp, just west of Luray,
Virginia. For the most part, the trip
was uneventful. However, the third wave
decided to travel a different route to the campground, which was fine until the
last quarter mile of the trip. Because
they approached the campground from the east, rather than the west, on a
divided highway, three of the four coaches missed the campground sign and
turned off on a very narrow backcountry road.
Twenty-five minutes later, the coaches emerged back on the highway very
dusty and found their way to the campground.
No harm, no foul; just some ribbing for the wave leader at social hour.
